The only thing that bothers me about this picture is the continuity. Iroh broke out of prison during the solar eclipse, which means all firebenders lost their bending. Iroh broke out of prison with brute strength and martial arts. That was the point of getting that buff, so he could be a one man army and bust out, having the physical advantage that the others didn't. Still an awesome picture, though.

In his defense he is lightning bending
That's a form of firebending. Just how bloodbending is a form of waterbending. Besides, he's using firebending to melt the bars, so it's a mute point.
Perhaps the source of his firebending (since the origins did not come for the sun, per se, but spoilers so I won't outright say it) allowed him to firebend despite the eclipse occurring?
That is a huge stretch and I don't buy it. There's a reason they kept cutting to him working out and getting ripped over the course of "Sokka's Master." It was to make it so you weren't confused as hell when the guard says he busted himself out. "He was a one-man army," the guard said. That's because he was so physically strong he busted the bars and beat the ever living shit out of anyone and everyone in his path, without firebending. That's the whole point. When the firebending is all gone, and you have to go up in a fight, how are you going to have the advantage now? For Zuko speaking to Ozai, it was Zuko's broadswords. Ozai was powerless against them. For Azula, it was her wit, cunning, and manipulation. For Iroh, it was his physical brute strength.

My favorite character!!  I was always so bummed that we never actually saw him bust out of prison.  It would have been so awesome!
